Stories from the Nursery

a.door.able

So, last night we bought a couch.  And a lamp.  And some new glasses, a duvet cover, and some plates.  We maneuvered three carts through the massive super store which I won't name and out onto the loading area, only to realize it wouldn't all fit in our car.  Shocking, I know.  We considered home delivery, but it wouldn't arrive until next Tuesday, and I just don't have that kind of patience.  So.  We packed the car full and then tied the biggest box to the roof.  We are no strangers to this.  When we did our first drive across the country, we found on the morning we were to leave that two folding chairs and our snowboards wouldn't fit in the car.  And I was not leaving without them.  So, we went to the local hardware store and purchased a shower curtain rod, some rope and some zip ties and made a roof rack for our car, then fastened the items to it.

Would you believe me if I said that curtain rod roof rack is still on our car???

We've also driven across the bay bridge with a couch on our car.  That time I was nervous, despite my amazing knot tying skills.

So last night, with experience under our belt, we tied that bad boy to our curtain rod roof rack and drove away.  Only to realize it was pouring.  As we drove towards the city we were getting more and more nervous that either a) the piece of furniture in the box on the roof would get so wet it would be water damaged or b) the box containing it would get so wet that it would disintegrate and the part of the couch in the box would fly off the car.  To ease our fears, we made a pit stop on the way home to drop it at the boy's office, half way between the store and our home.  So now, I have half a couch. And a lamp, and some glasses.  You get the picture.  It was anything but simple.

But you know what is simple??

Are you expecting or do you already have little loved ones running around?  We want to makeover your nursery!

Here's the deal:  we are trying to build up our portfolio with some really awesome photos of both rooms and the cute little ones that occupy them.  So we are looking for expecting moms or mom's/dad's in need of a nursery makeover.  You just need to send us some photos of your room or current nursery and and idea of what you are hoping to do with it.  We'll pick 2 - 3 winners.

What will the winners get you ask??

Each winner will receive all paint for the room FREE.  I repeat. All paint. Free.

And this isn't just any paint.  This is Quiet Nursery paint... its organic, beautiful and safe paint for you and your little one.   Winners will also get a .5 hour consultation with Lisa and Andi to select colors.  Once selected, the paint will arrive at your door ready to go...  paint it yourself (it's safe for expecting moms!) or have it painted...  then the fun begins.  Lisa and Andi will visit to help you with furniture placement and to stage the nursery for professional shots!  Your room will be photographed.  You and your little one might be photographed too!

(a great start... this little nursery in a cute farm house needed a face lift, and we used the blanket hanging over the crib as inspiration)

To this:

(viola... we used bee and bolt to create contrast.  We also brought the yellow all the way up over the ceiling to keep the eye from stopping to create a visually larger space.)

Let us help you create a safe, beautiful space for your little one.
