painted highchairs

Happy Monday!

If you are anything like me, it takes a little longer to get into the groove after a fun filled weekend.  And our weekend was definitely filled with the kind of family fun that makes you wish you had a videographer on staff just to memorialize it for you.  My family was all together visiting with the newest arrival to the clan who you have all heard me go on and on about.  The weather was chilly but sunny and we spent our time walking on the beach, drinking warm beverages, eating yummy food, exploring small town shops, passing around baby, visiting with wonderful family friends, passing around puppy and having mini photoshoots.  Last night we capped the whole weekend off with an evening bonfire on the beach complete with spiced cider, roast chicken sandwiches and plenty of stars.  See what I mean?  It was one of those weekends.  The kind that leaves you tired but happy... if only the weekend was one day longer!

So to ease back into the week, I wanted to share with you a fun idea that came to me over the weekend... and after a quick pinterest search I found I am not alone.

I give you painted highchairs:

How fun are these? And why not?  Your little ones spend so much time in these chairs eating, learning and growing.  Let's make them special!

We think our organic colors would work perfectly for this project.  Pick a color, any color and go wild.  It's easy to do - just make sure you sand down your wood highchair first and use a coat of primer for better coverage (organic primer can be found here!).  Make sure you use a high gloss paint (Quiet Nursery Satin) for durability and shine.

We think these colors would be down-right snazzy (spash, bloom, bolt, peep and twirl):
