nooks and crannies

Happy Monday all!  I hope you had a lovely weekend full of your favorite weekend activities. I have been craving a weekend at home after having been on the run the past few and that is exactly what I got.  After a thorough clean (because who can relax in a messy house) we spent the weekend reading, watching football, making onion rings, taking the pup on long walks and just enjoying our space.  I live in a small one bedroom with a rambunctious puppy and wonderful boyfriend.  It's a happy life, but from time to time the space can feel a little small for the three of us and our personalities.  So Sunday after a few hours of re-reading the same page of my book over and over  while trying to entertain the puppy with one hand and tune out the oh so relaxing sounds of video games, I started day-dreaming about a space of my own.

A closet would do.  Seriously.

So today I share with you some amazing ways to transform your closets to make a little more room for your little loved ones and their needs:

bold colors and patters draw attention to this reading nook.

Here the closet was made into an activity space for each child to do with what they like...  read, draw, play.

Lacking on space?  Use the closet for the crib.  Just define the space with some color!

Add some color and simple shelving for a wonderful library and place to get lost in a good book.

and finally, a wonderful changing nook.  The space is defined by draping and those built in shelves make for easy reach to all the necessities.
